Moot Part I - Law : A profession of hot AND brainy people!

So there you are, sitting in class classroom as a court master, crammed between the judge's table and the participants. You don't know crap that everyone is speaking about and what everyone is taking about. And the worst of all, you're commanded to sit QUIETLY otherwise a scary senior, who by the way is surprisingly sweet when not under pressure, will kill you.

So yes, there you are and the first match up starts. In the first match up, you sit there, listening to everything intently with an I-understand-or-am-atleast-trying-to-understand-everything expression on your face. But by the end of the first match up you start feeling like a stupid civilian who thinks that all these seniors are speaking Greek. By the third match up, you start looking here and there. You do all you can from passing chits to messaging your friends under the table trying not to get caught. But amidst feeling hungry, looking here and there and not getting caught, you end up realising how cute and young the two judges are.(trust me, they were cute enough  to be stalked on facebook on your phone while they're questioning another senior's memorial and asking why on earth was the defendant sued in the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi.)

After all the stalking, lunch and talking to them (they were utterly sweet, I must say) you even get to know that you have common friends with them. Not only that, you're even told that one of the judges played gully cricket and was neighbours with one of your closest friends. Now how can that not make the whole situation funny?

But moving on and coming back to the topic. So after all the talking, eating, stalking, laughing and taking advice, you start to think about how most of the cute guys you know are presently practicing or studying law. I mean its not even funny how many cute guys are present in this profession. And apart from the cuteness, what makes it better is the fact that they have brains, they have an amazing way of talking, they're super charming and they all look so good in a tux! I mean really, such cute guys, from a random friend's boyfriend to your own batch mate to that batch mate's friends and another friend's roommates. All you feel like saying is "Have Mercy" the was Jessy used to say in fullhouse.

Law was one profession that had the hottest girls after fashion courses (this is authentic information gathred by a survey conducted among my guy friends) but its a good thing that girls have better prospects that the slim-fit-collar-pulled-up-ear-studded-kewl-guys. But well, nothing is perfect. If I have seen the cutest guys, I've also seen the supidest ones. Tha 1s hu thnk itz kewl 2 tok lyk diz. But then lets not get too cynical and be happy with the choices given.

And very frankly, its not only guys. Not based on the common opinion of my guy friends, some of the smartest girls that I've come across are from this profession too. They know how to dress up, thet know how to talk, no guy messes with them because they have an aura of awesomeness around them, all of them, (guys and the girls) know how to party and I even look upto one of smartest chicks I know (though I'm pretty sure she doesn't know I exist. She is wayy senior to me. :P)

At the end of the day I guess we all deserve it. Lets face it, after working our asses off in college, interships and our project submissions, a little eye candy is always welcome. ;)

Little Things

So, sitting in a boring lecture, next to a guy I met a month and a half back in my new college, he asked me if I would give CLAT again.

Well, for this topic, a little background information, cracking CLAT was my dream. NLU Jodhpur and NALSAR were my dream colleges. NLUJ a little more than NALSAR for funny reasons but yes, going to these two colleges to study law was all that I could think of. The first time I gave CLAT, I wasn't prepared very well so I dropped a year for it and give it again in 2012. And sadly this time too, it didn't take me where I wanted to go.

So, coming back today, this friend asked me if I'd give CLAT again. It was as if someone had stabbed me right in my heart and twisted my stomach. But within that minute, he asked me if I was happy with my current college. And all of a sudden the horrible feeling of failure went away and a smile came across my face and I said, Ï don't mind it here.

Its not like that I have the most amazing college. We have teachers who pronounce the words funnily or the fact that (as I put it) we're the adopted children of  IP University at Amity who have rented premises and have to share a kick ass campus with about 20 different courses. But yes, I don't mind it here.

For actually liking this college, I could give multiple reasons. As funnily a teacher would pronounce a word, some of them are pretty amazing. The seniors are pretty awesome and help us with almost EVERYTHING. They aren't the snobby or means types. And the third and the most important reason being I've seen worse, much worse.

Right now Im doing something I absolutely love. I'm doing the course I wanted to do, I love the subjects and this college makes it to the top 10 law schools in the country. But the previous year, I was in a stupid college where no body liked to work or even cared about anything. College was one place where I didn't wanna go and the whole place basically sucked. The canteen had crappy food. The majority crowd was well.. weird.

So, ýes, having a year of super bad experience in a DU college last year made me appreciate the good points of this college. I mean yes from what I hear the NLUs are amazing and not being able to make it to NLUJ or NALSAR is something I'll always beat myself about but right now, one year of bad experience makes appreciate the little things about where I am today.

Never underestimate the little things. They are pretty much as important as the big ones. Sometime probably a little more than the big ones too. Its the little things that make or break a deal most of the times and if you choose to hate or ignore those things, you can never be happy. Atleast I know that I won't be. :)
