We've always heard great musicians say -- "Music knows no boundaries."
I couldn't agree with it more. Here I am writing this post while listening to one of the coolest song I've heard in a while. Yes, you've guessed it right. Its a song that is spreading like a virus all over, "Why this kolaveri di?".
The first time I heard the song I barely got the meaning. But the music is so damn catchy that I couldn't get the "pa pa paan pa pa paan pa pa paa pa pa paan" out of my head. Then I asked a few of my southy friends what those wrods meant and all of a sudden the whole song started to make sense. And now I'm hooked to it. I've heard that song over a million times. I know that lyrics by heart. And I got my brother hooked to it too. Haha.
The South Indian accent, great music and most of all, simple yet funny lyrics make the song totally awesome. I mean the lyrics couldn't be simpler. It has no deeper meaning that needs to be found out. If you know what the tamil words mean the song is is just plain hilarious. The music and the beats have such a good hook that it keeps on playing in your mind. And to top it all, the South Indian accent. I mean how cute/cool does "lovvu lovvu, oh my lovvu" sound?!
I do agree that music knows no bounds. Its popular pretty much all over the country. And as the Stats show its popular in any place that has Indian people living. Its equally popular in Australia, Canada, USA and England. But after listening to this song, I must say, that the simplicity of it also is a reason for its fame. All the people in the video seem to be mildly aware of the shooting but the way they also seem to enjoy the song does make a difference.
But obviosly. A coin always has two sides. There are many people who think that the song is nothing but just bullshit. Well, "To each his own." is the best way to settle it. You like it, good, listen to it again. If you don't then still, good for you. Don't ever listen to it again. I mean what purpose would it solve to fight over how good the song is on the video comments or on your facebook links?!
All, I know is that its a light song, which when you hear, you get a big smile on your faceand it should be taken in good humor. Anyway, I'm of to listen to the song again. People might hate it or whatever, I know I can't get over it. So a link is posted if you wanna hear it. I hope the songs gives you a good laugh too.
